Vinnie -- What I would include is clear administrative support for the effort. I think the top down / bottom up perspective seems to work best from my viewpoint. Other than that, you're covering all of our edtech integration options.

Vinnie... there aren't many days I wish I could trade my Canadian citizenship for an American one, but today might be one of them.

The opportunity to stand with the crowd and be part of a huge shift would be amazing. You will be part of history, my friend, in Chicago this evening. I will be thinking of you as I watch on TV from the north.

I believe that an Obama presidency will bring the wonderful people of the United States back into the world community as a thoughtful, respected global leader with a broad world view, something that has been sorely lacking for the last 25 years.

I am part of that world, and I WILL be watching!

Cheers,
Whip

The reality is that students are looking for information on schools via facebook and myspace anyway, so making your students aware of your schools expectations is critical. No matter what we do, our students will be using these tools, so getting our schools using them will increase awareness and help our students be more critical social network users.

Vinnie, I think you're definitely on the right track. I just worry about #3. Encouraging or putting kids into contact with "strangers" outside of your protective bubble might be thin ice.

I agree a cohesive and integrated approach that unites these seemingly competing priorities under one broad theme (quality teaching and learning) would appear vital for the success of any of these "projects".
The technology vision, problem-based pedagogy and associated PL plan can be the vehicle for success across all priorities.
